December 12, 2022 - Launched today, Scytale Academy is a free 10-week program aimed at supporting six to eight early-stage Web3 projects through investments, mentorship, technical support and educational sessions. The program culminates with a showcase day, where all teams will have the chance to pitch their projects to a series of investors. The application process begins today, December 12, 2022, and closes January 22, 2023. Interested teams can apply at the following link: https://scytale-ventures.typeform.com/Scytale-Academy
To cover their costs during the program, a stipend of $10,000 will be given to each team. Each team has the potential to receive an additional, discretionary investment from Scytale upon completion of the program.
Scytale Academy will be focused on up-skilling founders, which will improve their company’s structure, vision and ability to build a successful Web3 startup. Skills training will take place during the educational sessions, as well as through the mentorship sessions. Founders will be able to create a network through their mentors, as well as form connections with other participants in the program. Teams will not only receive skills training, but also technical and analytical feedback on their projects.
“Two of our core strengths at Scytale are research and being very involved with those companies that we do invest in,” said Christoph Kampitsch, CEO of Scytale. “This innovative Scytale Academy program will prepare a selection of promising ventures with foundational practices focused on fine-tuning the solution, the tech and business management - elements all critical for success.”
Scytale Academy mentors are prominent industry veterans such as Sergio Mottola, founder and president of Public Pressure, Alan Vey, CEO of Aventus and Forbes 30 under 30 list and Donnie Big Bags of Moonsama.
"I’m really excited to be a mentor for Scytale Academy. I have always been a huge proponent of Dotsama and the need for great designers to build solutions in this ecosystem,” said DonnieBigBags. “This has the potential to be a great bootcamp for many reasons including the creativity, innovation, enthusiasm and loyalty among the Dotsama community and the team at Scytale that has a proven track record of helping young teams grow."
Over ten weeks participants will benefit from the following core pillars:
Industry experts will do deep dives into topics such as Web3 product design and strategy, business modeling, community building, legal structuring, tokenomics and fundraising.
Each team will be assigned a strategic mentor from the Scytale network. Mentors will provide entrepreneurial advice, industry-specific knowledge and personal connections
Teams will have a one-to-one call with each other. This is a great opportunity to build partnerships with other teams, discuss similar challenges, build together and share advice.
Our technical experts provide quality tech support and feedback to teams throughout the program. Research analysts will give feedback to the projects as well.
Teams will have a chance to pitch live to investors at the showcase day at the end of the program. Top teams will be invited to pitch their projects at the Scytale conference.
